A message from the Owners and co-founders
Hello all!!!!
Let me be the first to welcome you to CrossFit-FTF based out of Fresno and Clovis! We are a complete fitness facility offering a revolutionary approach to fitness, CrossFit. In order to understand what these types of workouts entail, I have included a description of what it is and then a small description of what we will offer. Please enjoy and I look forward to enhancing your health and fitness!SO here we go... What is all this about??? It's about your fitness, health and well-being. The philosophy I have trained with my entire fitness career has been parallel to Crossfit's theory which is why I decided to affiliate and become an official location. The philosophy behind crossfit is: (you ready for this???)
-Constantly varied (always changing)
-Functional Movements ( stuff we do every day and natural unique movements of our body)
-done at High Intensity (performed to the maximum of your physical and pyschological efforts)
-to increase work capactiy (to help make life movements easier)
-over broad time and modal domain (over the long haul and through different methods)
Until the website is up and running... I will be e-mailing out specific Workouts of the day. You have a few options if you so choose... you can do the prescribed workout as written, or you can modify the workout for weight and reps. (More often than not, I will include modifcations for these workouts) The movements should be similar in nature regardless of your fitness level, but modified in design to accomodate your fitness level.
Also, please remember these are sent out to everyone and generalized in a way. Remember to scale the workout intensity to the best of your ability!!! This is Increasing work capacity over broad time and modal domains but working to the maximum psychological and physical capacity each time! For those of you new to the movements, remember to start with little to no weight because form is Extremely important.
There is another alternative, and while I use this website as a main Workout, http://www.crossfit.com/ is an incredible resource until our website is up and running and we are posting Crossfit FTF workouts of the day. We will also become an endurance training center as well in which we will begin to work with all specialties of endurance athletes. Which means, yes, we will be doing triathlon, marathon, adventure racing, etc. This specialty will open up later in March as we get settled into our location and begin to move forward.
Our facility will offer general memberships (which include three sessions with a crossfit certified trainer) as well as Boot Camps, Crossfit Group Training Sessions and a variety of services including Personal Training, Potentially massage therapy and a referral system to other businesses that can help support you in your needs to accomplish your goals. We are here for you and look forward to helping you achieve your fitness goals!
We will Open March 2nd at 5 AM for business and be located near Herndon and Minnewawa. Our hours will be from 5 AM to 8 PM monday thru Friday and 6 AM to 1 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. We will keep you updated for Our official Grand Opening Celebration which will be on March 7th, 2009 (A combination of free boot camps, competitive Fran workout and a Barbecue in the evening!!! We look forward to seeing you there and serving your fitness needs!!
